By Josh Vanderwerf
Alternate Ending #1 Laertes challenges Hamlet to a duel. Osric gives one sword to Hamlet, and one to Laertes. They begin the duel. Hamlet hits Laertes. "A hit, a very palpable hit," Osric proclaims. "Drink This," the king says after Hamlet hits Laertes. "Let us duel again," Hamlet says. "Bring it on," Laertes responds. Then, all of the sudden, Ophelia comes in and stabs Laertes with a poison tipped sword. "We thought you were dead Ophelia," said everyone surprisingly. "I faked my death because I want to be with Hamlet," said Ophelia. Then Ophelia stabs and kills everyone in the room with a poison tipped sword because she wants to be alone with Hamlet. "Now we can finally be alone Hamlet," "I love you." Hamlet realizes Ophelia has gone insane so out of fear, he stabs Ophelia with a poison tipped sword. "Wow, my family and friends are crazy," "I don't think I can live anymore." Hamlet stabs and kills himself. Everyone is dead. Alternate Ending #2 Laertes challenges Hamlet to a duel. Hamlet accepts his challenge. "One sword for you and another for you, Hamlet," Osric says. They begin the duel and Hamlet gets the first hit. "Nice hit Lord Hamlet," Laertes says disgustingly. "Let's duel again." Hamlet agrees to another duel and he hits Laertes again. Hamlet has won the duel and the king wants to celebrate be giving a toast to Hamlet. Everyone drinks to Hamlet's victory. All of the sudden, the king falls to the ground. No, it cannot be: the king drank poisoned wine! "This cup was supposed to be for Hamlet," "I took his cup." "You were trying to kill me!" Hamlet exclaimed. "Why me, why me, why do I have to die," says Claudius. "You deserve it you filthy and foul human being." The king dies.
